con terra with a strong presence at the world's largest user conference for geographic information systems.
San Diego, CA. "Meet. Map. Master." the motto of the Esri User Conference 2016 (UC) drew more than 15,000 participants from over 130 countries to the San Diego Convention Center, to learn new things, exchange knowledge and socialize. Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri Inc., opened the event traditionally with a speech at the User Conference plenary session. In front of the audience, he stressed the importance of GIS for a smart and sustainable world, and underscored it with impressive presentations of selected GIS projects from around the world. The spectrum ranged from the use of GIS in the metropolis of Los Angeles to the GIS-based analysis and modeling of Stone Age archaeological sites in Scandinavia.

With a strong presence, con terra was actively involved in the User Conference. Three employees of con terra were represented by lectures in the conference program. Subjects ranged from securing of ArcGIS Server data and services, INSPIRE, and the estimation of geo risks for geographical locaitons.
Intensive discussions were held at the con terra booth at the Esri Expo, where con terra staff explained the new products such as the Geo Risk Analyzer and security.manager – ArcGIS Edition.

Particularly pleasing from the perspective of con terra was the award of Dominik Schlarmann, a new member of the con terra team. He received the coveted International Student of the Year Award from the hands of Jack Dangermond, for his master's thesis "Geofenced Location-Based Services for eParticipation".
