NSDI Croatia

The State Surveying Department in Croatia asked con terra GmbH to supply consultancy services for the construction of a national geodata infrastructure (NSDI). These services were provided by con terra, the principal supplier, together with its partners, the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC, The Netherlands), SCB-Digital (Switzerland) and Trigger d.o.o. (Croatia).The implementation of the NSDI is seen in Croatia as an essential step towards eventual membership of the EU. The aim of the consultancy services is to devise a roadmap which lays out the goals of the NSDI as well as the procedural steps leading to its implementation. The roadmap addresses the strategic, legal, organisational and, not least, the technical aspects (standards, NSDI building blocks) of constructing a national geodata infrastructure.
