serviceMonitor - Qualitätsmanagement in Geodateninfrastrukturen
The sdi.suite serviceMonitor supports efficient quality management in spatial data infrastructures. Once registered, services are constantly monitored and evaluated by the serviceMonitor. If the service is lost or certain, defined availability criteria are not met, the responsible administrators or service operators are notified automatically by email or text messaging (sms). The reporting function provides a rapid overview of quality characteristics for various time intervals.
The monitoring function is activated by invoking the web interface of the various service types at configurable time intervals. The features available in version 2.0 of the serviceMonitor software include the support of OGC web services and the ability to use native interfaces (via http Post). This makes it possible to monitor ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server services directly. If these access instances do not conform with the prescribed quality requirements with regard to performance and availability or if the service is not available, the stated addressees are notified immediately via email or text messaging (sms).
In addition to the monitoring and notification functions, performance figures can also be obtained in the form of a report to provide information on availability and response times. In addition to the graphic outputting of the report results which has been implemented, the administrator has access to tools with which he can identify any weak points. An integrated user administration function, which makes it possible for different administrators to use the system, each with his own view, completes the list of functions.
The serviceMonitor can be integrated as a web service in a variety of environments and applications. Integration in the sdi.suite terraCatalog is supported as standard. Administration of the serviceMonitor can be performed with a standard web browser.
