FME Desktop - Licensing Options
FME provides several licensing options which are all available for every FME Edition. Please find below an overview of the different licensing modes.

Single-Fixed License (or Node-Locked License)
A single-fixed FME license is designed to enable FME to work on a single specified computer. To install FME on a different computer, you must request a new license key.
First Floating License
A floating license enables a number of concurrent users to simultaneously access a single FME deployment. FlexLM software is installed on a machine that acts as a license server by issuing a license to any client computer that requests one. If the number of user requests exceeds the number of floating licenses purchased, a user will need to wait until one of the active FME users closes FME on their computer so that the FME license is returned to the license server.
Additional Floating Licenses
Adds additional licenses to the 1st floating license. This enables more concurrent users to simultaneously work with FME according to the total number of purchased floating licenses.
FME Server License
The FME Server License allows the installation and operation of FME Server on a Windows or Unix Server.
By default FME Engine is part of a FME Server License. Additional Engines can be licensed for the simultaneous operation of processes.
Note: To run FME on the Citrix Platform, a floating license is required.
Evaluation License
Evaluation licenses are time-limited licenses for non-commercial use on a single computer. They can be generated for every FME Edition and expire after 14 days.
