FME Desktop - Editions
The available FME Editions differ in the number and mode of the supported formats and in the number of the useable transformers.
The tables below illustrate which FME Edition supports the appropriate data formats and which FME Edition supplies the different transformers.
Generel editions
- Base Edition
FME Base Edition is the low-priced FME entry-level version. It offers a number of data processing functions and supports many common CAD and GIS formats.
- Professional Edition
FME Professional Edition is a very powerful product for the processing, manipulation and conversion of spatial data. It offers all the functions available in the FME Base Edition along with many other geometric and attributive functions. It also supports considerably more data formats.
GIS vendor specific editions
- ESRI Edition
The FME ESRI Edition was designed especially for users of ESRI products, since it offers additional data manipulation functions and supports such ESRI products as ArcInfo (Coverage), MapObjects, ArcView (incl. 3D Shape Files), Geodatabase and SDE. The FME ESRI Edition is supplied with an FME Extension for ArcGIS to ensure the availability of FME functions directly in ArcGIS products. The FME ESRI Edition supports all the formats of the Professional Edition, and also incorporates a number of special functions for writing ESRI-specific formats.
- ESRI ArcGIS Server Edition
The FME ESRI ArcGIS Server Edition supports ArcGIS Server.
- Intergraph Edition
The FME Intergraph Edition was designed especially for users of INTERGRAPH products, since it offers additional data manipulation functions and supports such INTERGRAPH formats as Geomedia SQL Server. FME Intergraph Edition is supplied with an extension for GeoMedia, to ensure that FME functionality is directly available in GeoMedia GIS.
Database vendor specific editions
Each database vendor specific edition includes all features from the editions mentioned above. Additionally they have capabilities for loading spatial data into the appropriate database.
