INTERGEO 2009 a Success
The INTERGEO 2009 was a resounding success both for its organisers and for the exhibitors, with 16,000 visitors attending the fair and 1,500 people participating in the specialist congress. The world's most important congress fair enjoyed a 22 percent increase in the proportion of its international visitors at this year's event.
This year’s fair also had a highly international flavour for con terra. Not only because the Canadian manufacturers of FME Safe Software had joined us as a sub-exhibitor at our stand, but also due to the numerous international visitors who gladly took the opportunity to obtain information about con terra's products, in particular relating to Spatial Data Infrastructures and Spatial ETL. This was the first time that con terra was able to welcome a public administrative partner as an exhibitor at its stand, in the form of IT.NRW. IT.NRW is the central IT service centre for North Rhine-Westphalia, and the department came to Karlsruhe to present its web application, BORISplus.NRW, an innovative E-Government application that provides official information on the property market, which it had developed jointly with con terra. Enterprise GIS solutions in such fields as insurance and telecommunications were on show both at the con terra stand and on the neighbouring stand manned by ESRI Deutschland GmbH. At both locations, con terra representatives presented sample projects to demonstrate how ESRI software and complementary technology can be profitably employed.
